چکیده
Laboratory and numerical experiments were conducted to provide a quantitative steady-state analysis of the effect incremental variations water level on saltwater intrusion. The purpose was seek mathematical correlations relating both wedge toe length height along coastline boundary head difference. laboratory completed in 2D sand tank where freshwater seawater levels varied. for two bead sizes having different hydraulic conductivities. model SEAWAT used validate results then perform sensitivity analysis. experimental show that at conditions, logarithmic could be expressed as linear function relationship recorded advancing receding phases. linearity correlation also well demonstrated with analytical solutions. Similar relationships derived scenarios sea fluctuated while constant. found shows regression coefficients sensitive conductivity, dispersivity, density, porosity rate change induced negligible effects. existence between difference evidenced field-scale aquifer all hydrogeological conditions tested. This study is first attempt identifying underlying main intrusion (SWI) external metrics under controlled which great relevance from resources management perspective.

Correlation between Prolonged Hyperbilirubinemia and Serum Zinc Level in Term Neonates
Background: Prolonged hyperbilirubinemia is defined as jaundice persisting more than two and three weeks of life in term and preterm neonates, respectively. In total, 15-40% of jaundiced neonates became prolonged. The most common causes of prolonged hyperbilirubinemia are breastfeeding, infection, hypothyroidism, and continued hemolysis. Given the fact that no study was conducted on the associa...
متن کاملSynaptic dynamics contribute to long-term single neuron response fluctuations
Firing rate variability at the single neuron level is characterized by long-memory processes and complex statistics over a wide range of time scales (from milliseconds up to several hours). Here, we focus on the contribution of non-stationary efficacy of the ensemble of synapses-activated in response to a given stimulus-on single neuron response variability. We present and validate a method tai...

Effects of Caspian Sea water level fluctuations on existing drains
This study is an attempt to develop an integrated methodology to predict the impact of the Caspian Sea on flooding using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and hydrodynamic modeling. A rise in the sea level might lead to major flooding events, and have a severe impact on the spatial development of cities and regions. The feasibility of simulating a flood event along a drain channel is evaluat...
متن کاملWATER-LEVEL FLUCTUATIONS Ecological effects of water-level fluctuations in lakes: an urgent issue
Water-level fluctuations (WLF) affect the ecological processes and patterns of lakes in several ways. Aquatic habitats and feeding or breeding grounds are gained or lost, as light, climate and wave impacts change to mention only a few phenomena. While the phenomenon of WLF has been studied in many rivers (better known as flood pulse, Junk & Wantzen, 2004) and environmental flows (Bunn et al., 2...
